How does San Diego’s "Hard Water" affect my coating?
San Diego has some of the hardest water in the country (high mineral content). If tap water dries on your car, it leaves behind calcium and magnesium deposits (water spots).
Our Solution: Our Feynlab® and Icon Rocklear® systems are highly hydrophobic. This means water beads up and rolls off the surface before it has a chance to dry and etch into the paint, making water spot removal significantly easier.
Is ceramic coating the same as "Ceramic Tint"?
The cost varies depending on the specific Tesla model, the amount of coverage (e.g., full front, full car), and the type of film chosen. We provide custom quotes to ensure you get the perfect solution for your budget and needs.
I just bought a new Tesla. Does it really need a coating?
Yes. Tesla’s paint is notoriously “soft” compared to German-made vehicles. It is highly susceptible to swirl marks and road rash. We are San Diego’s #1 Tesla Protection Specialist. What is the difference between your 9H coatings and Icon Rocklear®?
Standard Ceramic Coatings are excellent for gloss and chemical resistance, but they are very thin (measured in microns). Icon Rocklear® is a high-solid coating that is 35x thicker. Think of it as a “Liquid Wrap”—it provides significantly more physical protection against the road debris found on the I-15 and I-5 freeways.
Will ceramic coating stop rock chips?
No. While coatings help with minor scratches and swirl marks, they cannot stop a rock at 70mph. If you are worried about rock chips from San Diego freeway commuting, we recommend a Hybrid Package: Paint Protection Film (PPF) on the front bumper and hood, with Ceramic Coating on the rest of the vehicle.
